Terms and conditions of bookings

Definitions:

In these Terms and Conditions the following words shall have the following meanings:-

We agree to carry you and your luggage on your journey subject to these terms and conditions.

Bookings:

All bookings will be considered as taken through the T C Travel Service office, irrespective as to how you transmit your booking details to us.

Children and young persons:

We will not be obliged to carry any child under fourteen years of age unless that child is accompanied by a responsible person aged eighteen years or over.

Collection at start of journey:

You should be ready for collection at least five minutes before the agreed collection time.

If you are not ready to travel by the agreed collection time then all or any of the following may be applied:-

  1. we reserve the right to charge you for waiting time
  2. we reserve the right to terminate the contract there and then to prevent delays for other customers with later bookings
  3. we reserve the right to alter the route to be taken - whether we have agreed this with you or not - in order to collect other customers who would otherwise have been delayed as a result of you not being ready for collection at the agreed time.

Collection on return journey:

We will accept the details you provide us with as being correct.

If the information you provide us with for your return journey is incorrect, incomplete, or erroneous in any way, we will accept no responsibility for any inconvenience or delays you may incur.

We have no liability for circumstances beyond our control:

We shall have no liability for any delay or failure to carry you, or for breach of contract, where caused by a circumstance beyond our reasonable control. The following shall be considered to be circumstances beyond our reasonable control: war or threat of war, accidents causing delays on the route to your destination, exceptional and severe weather conditions, fire and/or damage at or near your destination or collection point, compliance with the requests of the police, customs or other government officials and security services, deaths and accidents on the road, vandalism and terrorism, unforeseen traffic delays, strikes and/or industrial action, riot or local disturbance or unrest, problems caused by other customers, and any other reasons affecting passenger safety.

Luggage:

The normal amount of luggage that we will carry is one medium/large suitcase and one piece of hand luggage per person.

We will carry skis, golf clubs, folding trolleys and prams, folding wheelchairs, walking frames and wheelie walkers, bicycles and folding bicycles, provided that you have notified us of your requirements at the time of booking.

We will carry luggage in excess of one medium/large suitcase per person provided you have notified us at the time of your booking.

Fragile items are carried at your own risk.

Drivers are not obliged to lift your luggage on and off vehicles, but will normally offer all reasonable assistance in doing so except where in the opinion of the driver, your luggage is deemed excessively heavy, whereby you will be responsible for the lifting of your luggage on and off the vehicle.

Prohibited items:

We are not obliged to carry any of the following items of luggage, and you may not bring them onto any vehicle without our permission:-

any weapons, drugs or solvents (other than medicines), live or dead animals, fish or insects, or any item which in our opinion is unsafe, or may cause injury or damage to property, or which are considered by us to be unsuitable for carriage by reason of  their weight, size, shape, or character, or which are fragile or perishable, or items with sharp or protruding edges, or any item over 25kg in weight.

If you take any prohibited item onto any vehicle without out permission, we may remove them from the vehicle immediately on discovery, and leave them outside the vehicle, wherever the vehicle may be situated. If you have any doubts as to whether we will carry any particular item, you should enquire when booking and request a written confirmation that your luggage will be carried.

Lost property:

If you find any lost property on any vehicle, you must notify the driver immediately, and hand it over to the driver at the end of your journey, or at an earlier time at the drivers request.

If you leave any luggage behind on a vehicle, we will store this for you until such time as you are able to collect it from us.

If you have arranged a return journey, we will usually return your property to you at the commencement of your return journey.

Passenger behaviour:

  1. You shall behave in a reasonable, sensible and lawful manner on a coach
  2. Mobile phones shall only be used with consideration for other people
  3. You shall not be abusive or threatening to any other person on the coach
  4. You will not conduct yourself in any way which may endanger yourself, any coach, or any person or property on board any coach
  5. You may not obstruct any driver in the performance of their duties or fail to comply with their instructions
  6. You may not behave in a manner which causes discomfort, inconvenience, damage or injury to other persons on the coach
  7. You may not obstruct or allow your luggage to obstruct any aisle or emergency exit
  8. You may not play any radios, cassette or CD players or similar devices, personal stereos, musical instruments or any radio or electronic devices that are audible or distracting or annoying to any other person on the coach
  9. You may not take onto any coach any alcoholic drinks or drugs (other than medicines) for the purpose of consuming them on the coach
  10. You may not take any hot food onto the coach
  11. You may not board any coach while under the influence of alcoholic drinks or drugs
  12. You may not smoke on any coach
  13. You may not board any coach while you are seriously ill or suffering from any serious contagious illnesses

If you fail to comply with the behaviour rules 1 to 13 inclusive, as listed under the heading "Passenger Behaviour", or we have reason to believe that you may continue any conduct in breach of these behaviour rules, we shall be entitled to restrain you, remove you from the coach, refuse you further carriage, cancel your journey without refund, and take any other measures as we consider necessary to prevent continuation of such conduct.

Additional information:

All bookings are taken by T C Travel Service, and may be carried out in the name of T C Travel Service by any of our authorized agents or subcontractors.

None of our employees, agents, or representatives has authority to alter, modify, or waive any provision of these Terms and Conditions.

No person other than you or us shall have the benefit of, or be entitled to rely upon, or enforce any part of these Terms and Conditions, and the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 shall not apply.
